Instonians Rugby Club has announced a new partnership with JAM Card and NOW Group, becoming the first Rugby club in Ulster and Ireland to implement the JAM Card Initiative reaffirming its commitment to inclusivity and ensuring that all members and visitors feel welcome and supported.

This initiative supports Instonians new 5 year plan which will be launched later in the Summer, underpinning one of the Club’s core values – “FOR EVERYONE”.

The JAM Card (‘Just A Minute’) is a discreet tool that allows people with invisible disabilities to signal that they need a little extra time or patience in social situations. By embracing this initiative, Instonians RFC aims to create a more inclusive environment by providing staff training to develop a greater understanding of accessibility for all.

Clem Boyd – Director of Rugby emphasised the impact of the initiative; “We are delighted to introduce the JAM Card at our club. Rugby is a sport for everyone, and this initiative ensures that individuals who may require additional support feel comfortable and respected within our club environment. By being the first Rugby club in Ulster to adopt this, we hope to set an example for others to follow. We are already looking to have many of our volunteers trained on the JAM card initiative.”

Maeve Monaghan – CEO of NOW Group added; “We are thrilled to welcome Instonians RFC as the first rugby club in Ulster to adopt the JAM Card. Their commitment to inclusivity is inspiring and demonstrates real leadership within the sporting community. By taking this step, Instonians are not only supporting people with invisible disabilities but also setting a powerful example of what it means to be a truly inclusive club.”

The JAM Card has seen significant growth in recent years, with over 185, 000 JAM Card users since it first launched. Leading global brands are choosing JAM Card to make their workplaces more inclusive, efficient, and happier. Developed for and by people with disabilities as supported by NOW Group, the JAM Card is easy to use and discreet, making it the go-to choice for thousands of businesses.
