Belfast City Airport has been a JAM Card Friendly organisation for over a year now, and is seeing brilliant benefits from the training NOW Group is providing! In a great outcome for accessibility and inclusion,Belfast City Airport has taken the major step in becoming JAM Card Friendly, being one of Northern Ireland's most popular and largest transport hubs. It's important that those with communication difficulties and hidden disabilities have the opportunity to travel without having to fear unnecessary stress of dealing with the bustling atmosphere of airports.
Bill Doole, Duty Manager at Belfast City Airport, said:
“Belfast City Airport proudly became the first JAM Card friendly Airport in 2018 in order to make travelling that bit easier for passengers with a hidden disability.
“It is important to us that our passengers, regardless of ability, feel welcome and comfortable when travelling through the Airport, and the JAM Card means our staff can easily identify those who may require additional time or assistance.
“Our team has been trained to use clear language and to avoid separating those travelling with the JAM Card from their friends or family. All our employees are aware of the importance of discretion and work hard to ensure that Belfast City Airport is accessible for all.”
